Poetry carved in Stone
This coach depicts some of the finest structures carved in stone showcasing the dedication of the
creators and the painstaking details with which the structures have been created. The Stone
Chariot at Hampi is a 16th century structure inspired by the Sun Temple at Konark (Odisha),
the rock cut Arjuna’s Penance at Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, the sacred bull Nandi at Le
Pakshi, Andhra Pradesh, the temples at the banks of river Betwa in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh
and the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu are standing examples of
poetry carved in stone.
