Dhamek Stupa Buddha Statue
Buddhism Sarnath Laddakh
It is believed that the historical Buddha spent his time predominantly in India and after adoption
of Buddhism by the emperor Ashoka, the religion was spread far and wide. The adoption by
Buddhism in the West and many Asian countries have led to several sects, sub-sects, lay
organizations, preaching Buddhism. However, the basic tenet of the philosophy remains the same,
the primary being “Non-Violence”. In this coach, you see the Sarnath Stupa (U.P.) where Buddha
preached his first sermon, Mahabodhi Temple at Bodhgaya (Bihar) where Buddha attained
enlightenment and the Buddha in a lying position at Kushinagar, where he breathed his last.
