Nagaland Land of Colours
India is a land of vibrant colours. Be it festivals or attire, colours form an important
part of the Indian culture. In the Hindu tradition, dresses are chosen based on colours
to be worn for particular days of the week.
This coach depicts the festival of Colours – Holi being played at Barsana (U.P.) and
Hola Mohalla in Punjab. Other images show the Ganga Aarti at Varanasi,
Kalaripayattu in Kerala and the Hornbill Festival in Nagaland, which showcase
various cultural traditions of the regions with the performers wearing colourful attire
according to the ancient tradition.
